Quiet, historic Ocracoke village centered on Silver Lake and Irvin Garrish Highway (NC‑12). Short walks to shops, seafood restaurants, the Ocracoke Lighthouse, Silver Lake Harbor, and public Atlantic beaches. The vibe is laid‑back, seasonal and outdoors‑focused—great for beachgoing, birding, fishing and stargazing; services and businesses are concentrated in the Village area around the highway and harbor.

No bridges to the mainland—main options are vehicle or passenger ferries, private boat, or charter flights to Ocracoke Airport (W95). The island is compact and highly walkable in the Village; most visitors rent bicycles or golf carts. Limited local taxis/shuttles and a small number of rental cars available seasonally; plan for slower travel times during summer. Expect narrow roads, pedestrian and bicycle traffic, and occasional ferry waits; bring cash or card for local services.

Guests have private access to their assigned room or apartment, with convenient parking near the unit. During your stay, you’re also welcome to enjoy all shared Bluff Shoal spaces, including:

· Open ‘Southern Style’ Front Porch
· Community Back Deck
· Harbor/Waterfront Deck with Marina View
· Community Park Grill
· Outdoor Picnic Table Dining

Our Private Pier on Silver Lake—perfect for coffee, boat-watching, sunsets, and spotting wildlife.

These outdoor areas are shared with other guests, so we appreciate everyone keeping things tidy and respectful.

Please note: Bluff Shoal is a non-smoking property and pets are not permitted.

Loved having a front & back door

Loved having a front & back door. Also door unlocked with keys inside made arriving a breeze. When leaving also. Plan on going back to #5 every year

Great location

4star rating
Great location, bed very comfortable, room was clean , nice size room and bath but it did need some repair work the door to the bath room was coming off the hinges due to the wood rotting and the lower hing rusting . The door between the rooms had a large space under it so you could hear conversation in the next room easily. The light over the microwave didnt work. We enjoyed our stay and would go back with out hesitation . .
